The first harvest of my redcurrant berries. Rips – in Norwegian. I have 3 shrubs in my tiny garden, and this year I might beat the birds to my berries. I have placed a net over the shrubs , which seems to be working. Or maybe it’s the lavender and/or onions I have planted in between that keeps them away. In any case, this looks promising.
What I will do with it all , I have no idea. I used to make juice out of red – and blackcurrant. Amazing juice, rich on c-vitamin and all the things one needs up here north during the winter months. This year I just picked them, and put them in the freezer. Maybe I`ll make smoothies in december or january. At least, now I have time to decide.
Coming up are the blackcurrant, and the blueberries. I know what I am going to do with the blueberries.
Yes – eat them 🙂
